Activity Week
Day 4 of 4: The final day. Pupils explored space in an immersive 360
o dome theatre. They gained an insight into what it is like for an astronaut to be in space and life in the universe. Workshops were held by St John Ambulance giving pupils advice on first aid. The finale of the week was a 100 metre obstacle course.
Day 3 of 4: Another day of challenge for our pupils to engage with - from an activity Maths In A Suitcase to various circus activities to being introduced to a snake, owl and a tarantula. Plus lively and fun 'Musical' based dance workshops and KS3 pupils experienced skateboarding and skiing.
Day 2 of 4: Pupils experienced another fantastic day. Bollywood dancing - a taste of various Indian dances from Bhangra to Jai Ho to Bollywood Hip Hop. The pupils had a flavour of different Indian styles of dancing. Bhangra drums - lively beats of the Dhol drums engaged the pupils.
Day 1 of 4: What a wonderful start to our Activity Week. Pupils have enjoyed being outside of their comfort zone to climb to the top of a 7.2 metre climbing wall. A science magician entertained all pupils with card, rope and water tricks using sneaky science to create the illusion of magic. Pupils from years 5 & 6 were overwhelmed as they had over 100,000 pieces of lego to construct an olympic village; city scenes; train tracks; windmills; helicopters and aeroplanes incorporating batteries, bulbs, wires and switches to create working lights / scenes. Pupils have undertaken recycling projects.
